Congratulations to Emily Power of Mullagh N.S. Emily was recently selected as the winner in the O.P.W. Nationwide Primary Schools Art Competition based on the theme of the “Winter Solstice”. Emily and her family have been invited to Newgrange for the winter Solstice on December 21^st.  She will have the honour of witnessing the light enter the chamber in this 5000 year old wonder of the world. Emily’s art will be displayed in Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre at Newgrange. Well done to Emily on her fantastic achievement and many thanks to Ms. Genevieve Pender for preparing and entering the pupils in this national art competition.

This weekend we begin our Annual Appeal for non-perishable items (in date) that will be placed in Hampers to help those who are finding it extra difficult this Christmas in our area.  Boxes will be placed in all the Churches.  We ask your generous response as in past years.  Items could include some of the following: Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Taytos, Selection Box, Minerals, Biscuits, Soup, Jam, Baked Beans, Cornflakes, Custard, Crackers, Creamed Rice, Toilet Rolls, Tinned Fruit etc..
