We acknowledge with thanks the gift of a “Sick call set” donated in memory of Peter P Shanahan on the 25th Anniversary of his death.  This was donated by Patrick Kearney & his family in America.

A meeting of the parents of children preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation & Holy Communion will take place in Mullagh Hall on Thursday 20^th September at 8 p.m. On the night we extend a warm welcome to Sr. Essie Hayes, Nenagh who is a member of the Diocesan Catecthical Team for Primary schools. We encourage all families concerned to be represented.

The second envelope in your box next weekend is to support Bishop O’Reilly in his efforts to care for an increasing number of sick and retired Priests.  Some of the Priests in their younger days, worked here in our Parish and gave their best.  Now in their twilight years, they need care and some need nursing support.  Your generosity to this appeal will help Bishop O’Reilly in his obligations to care for these elderly Priests.  This collection will be taken up at all masses next weekend 15 & 16 September. We ask that no other collection to take place.

The Diocesan Office has just published the Confirmation Schedule for 2013. Since his appointment just over two years ago Bishop O’Reilly has visited every parish in the Diocese on a pastoral visit or to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation. From next year on Bishop Kieran O’Reilly will administer Confirmation in the parishes of the Diocese on a two year cycle. On the alternate years Confirmation will be administered either by the local Parish Priest or by the Vicar Generals of the Diocese. The date proposed for the celebration of Confirmation is Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost Sunday is Sunday 19 May 2013.
