October 19th, 2012The Second Clare Athletics Association Cross Country Races were held in Newmarket On Fergus and once again all Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare Athletes from U-9′s to U-19′s plus Intermediate Ladies and Men had a very successful day winning 3 Individual gold, 1 Silver and 2 bronze Medals, Fielding 11 Teams in Total and winning 8 Team Awards. 5 Gold Team Medals in the girls and boys U/11s and U/13s, and Boys U/15′s.Double Silver Team in the Girls and Boys U/15′s and the Intermediate Ladies also taking Silver Medals. Ben Whelehan taking Gold in the Boys U/11′s, Caoilfhionn O Dea Taking Gold in the Boys U/13′s and Eoin Looney taking Gold in the Boys U/15′s a Silver and Bronze to Caoimhie Hogan and Emer Keane in the Girls U/13′s and Noreen Mackey winning a bronze medal in the Intermediate Ladies 4000metres. Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare were awarded the Best Overall Club on Day Two and Sunday will see all of those Athletes competing in the Munster Cross Country Championships in Beaufort Co Kerry.Training in Mullagh Community Sports Field 7-8 Monday and Wednesday.
