KILMURRY IBRICKANE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

August 19th, 2022

Great news for the Parish today with the news that the Kilmurry Ibrickane Development Committee under the Chairmanship of Marty Morrissey were informed that Planning Permission from Clare County Council for the proposed Sports Arena in Quilty had been granted.

The Committee have been working tirelessly and patiently for a number of years drawing all the elements that are necessary together to make this decision a reality.

There are certain criteria that need to be fulfilled as happens with all planning permissions that have been granted but these are considered minor rather than major.

The granting of the planning permission means the Committee can now apply for Government funding as well as finance from other sources so construction can start in the future.

The Sports Arena when completed hopefully will be a massive asset to our Community in Kilmurry Ibrickane but also indeed to the people of West Clare and beyond.  Not alone will it be ideal venue for sporting events but it will also be designed to hold major concerts, shows, school plays and community meetings.

A major step forward for the project happened this week and no doubt it’s brilliant news for our Parish.
