Ordination to the Priesthood

August 5th, 2011

Rev. Ger Jones a native of O’Brien’s Bridge, Co. Clare will be ordained on Sunday 21 August 2011 in St. Flannan’s Church, Killaloe at 3:00 p.m.  Ger’s First Mass will take place on Monday 22  August in St. Thomas’ Church, Bridgetown, Co. Clare at 7:00 p.m.   We ask the people of the diocese to pray for him and for all students of the religious life and the priesthood.

Knocknahilla Graveyard Mass

August 5th, 2011

The Annual Mass will take place in Knocknahilla Graveyard on Wednesday 10 August at 8pm.  We extend a warm welcome to join us in prayer and reflection.  Please let family members living away from the area know of this date and time.

Mary Margaret Shanahan

August 4th, 2011

The death has occurred of Mary Margaret Shanahan nee O’ Flaherty,
Tromara, Quilty at the Mid Western Regional Hospital, Limerick.

Reposing at home on Saturday 6th August from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Removal on Sunday 7th August to Star of the Sea Church, Quilty for 1 p.m. Mass

Burial in adjoining cemetery.

May she rest in peace.

Senior Citizens Annual Outing 2011

August 3rd, 2011

This will take place on Tuesday 23 August 2011.  This year we will visit The Burren Centre, Kilfenora, The Burren Perfumery, Carron and then on to Galway for lunch and shopping.  Bus will leave Mullagh at 9am sharp and will return at 7pm approx.  Names as soon as possible to facilitate bookings to Maura on 7087044, Agnes 7087264 or Helen on 7087309.

National Grandparents Pilgrimage

August 3rd, 2011

This will be on Sunday 11 September 2011 at Our Lady of Knock Shrine, Knock, Co. Mayo.  Chief Celebrant will be Archbishop Michael Neary, Archbishop of Tuam and Patron of the Catholic Grandparents Association.  Guest singers will be Liam Lawton, Dana, Ann Marie Gibbons and Daniel Furlong (winner of 2011 RTE All Ireland Talent Show).  Reflection by: Kathy Sinnott, Host of Celtic Connections EWTN radio.  There is an invitation to all Grandchildren to write a prayer for their grandparents.  All prayers will be blessed at the pilgrimage.  Choral singing by: Mayo School of Music Youth Choir & Our Lady’s Choir, Castlebar.  2pm: Anointing of the Sick with music and song.  3pm: Pilgrimage Mass followed by the Rosary.  For more information contact: The Fairgreen, Westpost, Co.
